STYLE WATCH: WILD ABOUT TRIBAL PRINTS

Animal print has long been the wild child’s go-to, but this season there is a more subtle and stylish trend for the untamed.  Tribal/ethnic print clothing and accessories are fun, flirty and animalistic without taking it over-the-top.

Available in endless patters and color combinations, tribal fashion is an ever-evolving trend. From bold to subtle prints, jewelry, and accessories...there are so many different tribal styling options.

At Sarai-Sarai we are loving tribal/ethnic prints for the Spring and Summer.  Take a look at some of our favorite pieces:

Tribal Belted Romper $55.00

Boho Style Ethnic print Cocktail Dress: $55.00

Green Tribal Print Maxi Dress with Skinny Belt: $35.00

There are also so many possibilities for tribal jewelry. Bangles, beads, cuffs, and beautiful stones.  The intricate designs and colors can add life to a casual look.

Turquoise and Red Layered Ethnic Necklace (with matching earrings): $30.00

Turquoise Ethnic Wrap Necklace (with matching earrings): $30.00

Styling Tip:  Try natural makeup when going tribal.  Brown and tan shades paired with a nude lip will give you a very cute boho-chic look.

Spring/Summer 2011 Style Watch TREND #2: Bell Bottoms - The Flared Legged Jeans Make A Comeback!

As Spring 2011 approaches, so does 1970's fashion as a major influencer of trends across 2011.  A major part of that era, bell bottom and flare leg jeans, are back in style.  Time to put the skinny jeans in the back of your closet...and what a relief because I'm too thru with having to dance my way into my skinny's!

The Gap has also done a great job on their interpretation of the hippie denim. Dark denim, with a long leg, slender thigh, and flare from the knee...showing us that Spring is definitely all about 1970's influence.

The flared legged jeans aren't only in style this Spring for women, but for men as well.  I'm not a fan of an extreme flare on a man...but i do like a subtle flare.   They are the perfect attire for a casual daytime event, lunch on South Beach, or an exotic vacay.

My Hair Secret...

I receive many compliments and am always asked what do I use in my hair to keep it so shiny, healthy and frizz free.  I have naturally curly hair, so it has been an adventure (to say the least) to find a product that will keep my hair smooth while I wear it straight.

I heard so many great things about Moroccan oil, did some searching online and found this Argan Oil at Sally's Beauty Supply.  Argan Oil Treatment is a unique finishing, smoothing and conditioning product derived from Moroccan Argan Trees.   Rich in essential fatty acids, Omega 6 and Vitamin E, it is valued for its ability to regenerate and nourish dry and damaged hair.  It's a non-greasy, alcohol free formula that creates shine without leaving an oily residue...which I hate...and leaves my hair feeling very silky, smooth, and hydrated.  It is great for ALL hair types.

I use only a few drops in my hair right after I shampoo and condition, then I blow dry.  Argan oil can be used on wet or dry hair, and you dont have to use much for the effect to last for DAYS.

Definitely a beauty must have, Argan Oil retails at about $10 at Sally's Beauty Supply

Fashion & Drama: The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection

Last night, Bravo premiered its new season of The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection.  This season’s hosts, fashion icon Iman, and internationally acclaimed designer Isaac Mizrahi challenge 12 professional designers in a runway battle.

This season is definitely different than Season 1, hosted by my hometown diva Miss Kelly Rowland. The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection Season 2 gives the show a new twist by splitting the 12 designers into 2 "fashion houses;" the House of  Nami and the House of Emerald Syx.  Each house must work together to create a collection and produce a live fashion show judged by Iman, Isaac, and Harper’s Bazaar’s Laura Brown, and of course, one designer will be eliminated at the end of each show.  The contestants are competing for a chance to create the "Ultimate Collection," $125,000 as well as a feature in Harper's Bazaar Magazine.

On last nights' premiere episode, each house was told to use Iman as their muse and create a collection for her. The House of Nami came together smoothly to create a beautiful vision, while the House of Emerald Syx struggled to work together and come up with a cohesive collection.  Talk about "team work" gone wrong.  The House of Nami won with their well executed fashion show and absolutely gorgeous collection...

What's a reality show without DRAMA? Calvin Tran is HILARIOUS.  Within the first 5 minutes of the show he says "I wake up every morning want to be a nice person, but by 3 o'clock the bitch come out."  With that being said, we all know who the drama queen of the show will be.  Between his constant bitching and the altercation with Francine in this first episode, I'm convinced he will continue to make the show very entertaining...not to mention he had the guts to back talk Iman during his critique.  How dare he?  Surprisingly (well, maybe not so much), the decision was to either send Calvin or Francine home.  Iman called Calvins' design "cheap," "a fashion emergency and it needs to be evacuated," and Laura Brown told Francine that her design looked as if it came from Strawberry.  Fortunately, for entertainment and rating purposes, Francine was given her walking papers. :-)
Guest judge, Rachel Roy along with Isaac Mizrahi, Iman, and Laura Brown

I'm looking forward to next weeks episode of The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection.  Fashion and Drama...every girls best friend!
